Amazing music from one of the coolest vocal groups of the 70s -- a hip New York trio who never hit the heights of the Jackson 5 or Chi-Lites, but who are maybe even more important to our ears overall! Black Ivory started young -- with a harmony style that was incredible for their age, and which was perfect for both funky numbers and late nite ballads, in a way that was similar to The Whatnauts -- and as the 70s moved on, they also grew up and found a style that worked well for clubbier material -- which they crafted in a way that was surprisingly strong, and far different from any of the disco cliches of the period. Even in the early 80s, they could hang around the farther reaches of the soul scene -- keeping an indie harmony vibe strong when others were losing steam. All the best aspects of the group's sound are collected here -- in an overstuffed, double-length package that includes the cuts "Walking Downtown", "Big Apple Rock", "Surrender", "I Keep Asking Questions", "Just Leave Me Some", "Wishful Thinking", "You & I", "Don't Turn Around", "Find The One Who Loves You", "I'll Find A Way", "Spinning Around", "We Made It", "Love Won't You Stay", "Mainline", "White Wind", and "You Are My Lover". LP features the track "What Goes Around".
